Can Cradle products run on Apple Silicon?
We are currently working on introducing native Apple Silicon support across all Cradle products as soon as possible, but until then, Cradle Hub and other Cradle products currently require Rosetta 2 to run successfully on Apple Silicon (M1) processors.
Upon installing CradleHub on an M1 Apple machine, you may be prompted to install Rosetta 2, if it isn't already installed, which will allow Intel-based applications to run on M1 processors.
If prompted with the above message, please ensure the Rosetta 2 installation completes successfully before proceeding with the Cradle Hub installation.
We'll update this article with more information once we introduce full support for Cradle products running natively on M1 processors.
In the meantime, you'll be able to run Cradle products using Rosetta 2 in the latest versions of most popular music applications. To do so, simply right-click your DAW in the Applications folder in Finder, select Get Info, and ensure the Open using Rosetta option is selected:
Here's the current state of play across supported DAWs:
Ableton Live
Live 11.1+ now runs natively on Apple M1 systems, but Live must be opened using Rosetta as per the instructions above, until native Cradle product support for Apple Silicon is available.
Logic Pro
Logic Pro became fully compatible with Apple Silicon from version 10.6. Cradle products can only run in Logic Pro via Rosetta, until support for Apple Silicon is available.
Pro Tools
Apple Silicon compatibility currently varies across different combinations of OS and Pro Tools versions. - check out the list on Avid's website here. Pro Tools must currently be opened using Rosetta, until native Cradle product support for Apple Silicon is available.
FL Studio
FL Studio 20.8.4+ is able to support Cradle plug-ins on Apple Silicon machines, but FL Studio must be opened with Rosetta to run your Cradle products.
Cubase
Steinberg has introduced native Apple Silicon support for Cubase, but please ensure you run Cubase with Rosetta until Cradle products are supported on Apple Silicon.
