GUI overview
The interface of The Prince is made up of the following sections:
Output
Control the output volume of the selected preset
UI Scale
Resize the plug-in window to suit your screen resolution
Preset library
Use these to cycle through Frank's collection of custom-designed presets. Click the +
icon to reveal the list of presets for the selected category
Preset categories
Flick through these if you're looking for a particular style of sound or instrument
Layers A & B
Each preset is made up of two layers of audio, sampled from Frank's collection of vintage gear. Separate controls for each layer can be found on most parameters
Sample selectors/browser
Use these to cycle through the available samples for each layer. Click the +
icon to reveal the list of available samples
Blend
Use this to adjust the output balance between layers A (blue) & B (yellow)
Link
Enabling the Link button allows you to adjust both layers of a parameter at the same time
LFO
Tweak these to create different forms of movement to your sound, including to the filter, volume and panning. Choose from a variety of waveforms
Source
These parameters affect the very source of your sound, such as the tuning of each layer or adding a smooth pitch glide between notes. You can also choose whether the sound is monophonic/legato (one note at a time) or polyphonic (multiple notes, allowing you to play chords)
Filter
This affects the frequency of The Prince's filter. Use it to cut out or isolate certain frequency ranges. A low-pass and high-pass filter is available
Amp
This section contains an envelope that controls the behavior of the volume (how long it takes for the sound to fade in, sustain and fade out), as well as panning. The velocity parameter controls how sensitive the amp is to MIDI velocity input
FX strip
Noise, distortion, chorus, delay and reverb settings with a dry/wet knob and bypass button
